The Irish Loop is located on the southeastern portion of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula. Newcomers can choose to arrive either by air, or by land and sea.

By Air
St. John's International Airport services the Irish Loop region, with all communities located within a 2-hour drive from the airport. Both national and international connections are available, with regular direct flights from Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Newark(US), and London(UK).

By Land and Sea
Since the Irish Loop is located on the island of Newfoundland, newcomers who wish to arrive by car will also need to use ferry service provided by Marine Atlantic. All ferry service to Newfoundland departs from North Sydney, Nova Scotia, with year-round service to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and additional June-September service to Argentia, Newfoundland.

Road access to the Irish Loop includes several points of entry:
Route 90 from Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1)
Route 13 from Trans-Canada Highway to Route 10
Route 3 from St. John's to Route 10
